Spring break

Warm temperatures are in the air. Area residents are pulling their shorts out of their closets and bikers are dusting off their motorcycles.

Temperatures in the area have been in the upper 60s. According to Dan Kelly, meterologist with the Buffalo Weather Service, the high temperature in Dunkirk was 67 Wednesday.

"It is above normal. Rochester broke a record high today," Kelly said.

Many people were out running errands today with the ability to not wear a jacket. Many even wore sandals and shorts, a sure sign spring is on its way. Many were out enjoying the warm weather at the Cliffstar Skate Park, the Dunkirk Pier or local ice cream shops.

Both the Big Dipper in Dunkirk and Sullivan's Charbroil in Fredonia saw an increase in business due to the warm weather.
