Volunteer group opens new hospital café

Hamilton Health Sciences Volunteer Association has opened a new food service location at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre. Nora’s Fresh Café is a 9,000-square foot cafeteria that seats 200, with an open concept design, plenty of natural light, a variety of seating options and two lounge areas. Among its offerings are a charbroil grill, panini sandwich and flatbread station, made-to-order salad bar station and an espresso bar. There are several healthy meal options on the menu, in keeping with the association’s Good for You program.

“It’s absolutely beautiful,” says customer Jane Day, an employee health nurse at the hospital. “It’s nice and bright. People are going to feel good coming here.”

The café’s hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., seven days a week.
