1. Polar Plunge

Support Special Olympics athletes by jumping into the waters of Fox Lake at Lake Front Park, 71 Nippersink Blvd., Fox Lake, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. Check-in begins at 11 a.m. Funds raised from the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge will benefit Special Olympics Illinois Northeastern/Area 13, which serves athletes with intellectual disabilities in Lake and McHenry counties. All plungers are required to collect a minimum of $75 in donations. Check-in begins at 11 a.m. and last-minute Plungers are welcome. There is a pre-registration on Feb. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Fox Lake Park. Lunch, following the plunge, is free for plungers and $5 for non-plungers.
