Keystone, boiler MACT and renewable tax credits all up for Senate vote - The ...

MOMENT OF TRUTH — A year’s worth of tough talk on energy issues will come to a head in a few hours of voting today, as the Senate prepares for a string of high-stakes votes on energy issues including the Keystone XL pipeline, EPA’s boiler MACT and a host of federal supports for renewable energy.

The votes come courtesy of a deal — reached late Wednesday night between Democrat and Republican leadership — to consider 30 amendments to the transportation bill.

The list is headlined by a pair of amendments on the Keystone XL pipeline, both of which will need 60 votes to pass. North Dakota Republican John Hoeven is proposing to strip President Obama of his authority over the pipeline and approve it via congressional consent.
