Public can bid on judge's seats

Since then, St. Catherine's has had plenty of people volunteer to judge this year's contest, said Jacqi Glenn, community affairs coordinator at St. Catherine's. So, the living center decided to do something different in an effort to raise more funds: Auction off the five judges seats at this year's event.

"We thought, 'How can we do this, make it fun, make it competitive - and also, it's a fundraiser, so raise money for St. Catherine's at the same time?" Glenn said. "It just kind of evolved from a discussion. We thought, 'Let's try it out and see how this goes this year.' "

Starting Wednesday, the public will be able to bid on each of the five judges seats on winning-bidder.com , an auction website. People can bid as many times as they want, and the top five donors will win the judges' seats for the March 29 cook-off challenge.
