New restaurant, 324 Grill, opens in Manchester

MANCHESTER — Aaron Sarette, owner of the old Cafe 324, has opened 324 Grill, at 488 S. Main St., near the intersection of Boynton and Woodbury streets.

The old Cafe 324 closed July 30 after 12 years in the Millyard. It took about five months to renovate and improve the 3,000-square-foot space ready, he said.

“We are doing American comfort food with kind of a twist,” Sarette said. For example, Cafe 324's shepherd's pie is made with steak instead of ground beef. “We rub the steak with a coffee and ancho (mild pepper) rub, still with mashed potatoes, but using green beans instead of using corn.

“We top that with an au jus pan sauce, and then it's sprinkled with asiago cheese,” he said.
