What Has Happened to Hip Hop?

I have been a hip hop fan ever since I can remember. I'm not talking about T-Pain, Soulja Boy, Akon, and Young Yeezy. I actually think anyone who considers the previous as hip hop artists is completely mistaken. I am talking about Common, Slick Rick and KRS-One. I am talking about A Tribe Called Quest, NAS, Tupac, the Roots and Public Enemy.

There is a fine line between rap and hip hop. To me, real rap would be Wu-Tang, Eazy-E, Snoop, Dr. Dre and Jay-Z. Hip hop, however, is a little softer than rap, I consider hip hop near rap, but not quite as strong. Rap to me is hardcore rhymes with sick beats, but hip hop is smoother.

In a relationship rap would be the male and hip hop the female, however, they are royalty among other genres. Hip hop is the Queen Bee of my life. I am not sure how to explain to you what hip hop means to me.
