Police: Embalmer Suspected Of Selling Gold From Dead

LONGMONT, Colo. -- An embalmer is accused of stealing gold teeth from bodies and cremated remains and pawning them, according to the Longmont Police Department.

Investigators said a Boulder County Grand jury indicted Adrian David Kline on suspicion of eight counts of providing false information to a pawn broker and two counts of providing false information to a secondhand dealer.

Kline is suspected of removing gold dental crowns from bodies prior to embalming and removing dental gold from cremated remains, police said..

"It's just freaky," said Mark Chamberlain, owner of Chamberlain Gold and Silver Exchange in Longmont. Chamberlain said it's not unusual for people to come in wanting to sell gold caps and crowns, and he bought a couple from Kline.
