Black River plan draws reaction

The Community Foundation of St. Clair County has plans to make the Black River shoreline more attractive. We'll start with your thoughts.

Talk to me:

» Jan from Lexington: "I urge the Downtown Development Authority to reject Community Foundation of St. Clair County President Randy Maiers' plan for increasing tourism. A burning permit surely can't be issued for an unsupervised $13,000 fire pit. Outdoor diners, strollers, loft residents and those with breathing problems won't be able to escape the pollution from these unsupervised fires."

» Terry: "This is for the people that are working on the Black River project. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to fish on the Black River again? Wouldn't it be nice to clean up the Black River and maybe dredge it? Get somebody in there to figure out why there aren't any yellow-bellied perch spawning there. There used to be fishermen up and down the Black River when they used to spawn. I used to go there with my father. That would be a nice sight to see again. It would bring people back to Port Huron."
