Xfinity Live!, Philly's “fourth stadium,” set to open

For those looking for a bite to eat and a drink before or after a game in South Philadelphia, the options have always been pretty limited unless you left the sports complex that houses the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and Sixers.

Sure, there are the hardcore tailgaters that have enough food and drinks to ride out the apocalypse. And in recent years, the in-stadium offerings have grown along with sports venues like Citizen’s Bank Park, which has the boisterous McFadden’s pub attached, and the Wells Fargo Center, which houses a few clubs and bars, including P.J. Whelihan’s Pub.

Even still, for a sports-crazed town like Philly, there has always been a lingering feeling that there should be more of everything — restaurants, bars and entertainment options — near the nucleus of the city’s sports world.
