CORONA: Verity House started as replica
A bungalow with Arts and Crafts styling best describes the Corona house at 2038 Main St.
Built by Marion and Laura Featherston in 1927, the Craftsman house was intended as a replica to another house on a hill in El Cerrito.
The builders lived in the Corona house for five years until it was sold to citrus rancher Charles Verity and his wife, Margaret. Charles Verity served as a city councilman from 1942 to 1948, and he was a member of many fraternal organizations. Margaret Verity served as a Corona-Norco school board member for 18 years and was on the Riverside County School Board as well.
The Verity family owned the home until the mid-1960s. John and Patricia Walker bought the house in 1989. Carlos and Kathleen Levalle later bought the home.
Twin pairs of white columns flank the front door. A Batchelder/Claycraft tiled fireplace adorns the living room, along with stained glass inserts and restored wood floors, base and door moldings. Built-in bookcases sit on both sides of the fireplace. The dining room still features the original built-in china hutch.

Last year's competition saw Calderdale's very own The Shibden Mill Inn pick up the the crown and business has boomed for the pub since. Owner Simon Heaton said: “It was a huge honour to win in 2011 – the positive effect on business has been fantastic.
Willie Mullins' remarkable eight-year-old retained her mares' hurdle crown at the Cheltenham Festival again last month, but was opposed here by Voler La Vedette, who had given Big Buck's a race at Prestbury Park. The big two came to the fore
