Dreams of seeing the mountains of New Mexico and hiking in the woods at Ingersoll are a couple of reasons why members of Boy Scout Troop 102 are pushing sales of tickets to their spring barbecue fundraiser, set for Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Lincoln.
Planning started before Christmas and according to Lincoln resident Chris Graue, a troop leader, the event has turned into a well-oiled machine.
“Everybody has a role to play and held accountable to what needs to happen to make sure the event runs smoothly,” said Graue. Dave Opperman takes care of the volunteer labor while Steve Schreiner is what Graue calls the “stub hub” of the event.
Schreiner’s son Garrett is a scout and has helped raise money to support an upcoming scouting trip to Philmont in New Mexico.
