Montreal Chicken Joint Severs Ties With Gordon Ramsay

The Outremont eatery on Thursday confirmed it removed Gordon Ramsay’ s name from its outdoor sign and was ending its business partnership with the Gordon Ramsay Group.

“In light of this announcement, the restaurant will pursue its operations under a new name, Laurier 1936, as of February 17,” the restaurant said in a statement. 

It turns out the foul-mouthed TV chef left a bad taste in Montreal after not stepping into Laurier Gordon Ramsay since a highly-publicized makeover last August.

“We wish Gordon all the best, but he’s a big star and too busy to come to the restaurant,” owner Danny Lavy told the Montreal Gazette newspaper on Wednesday.

A London spokesman for Ramsay replied his company was “surprised and saddened by Lavy's comments, and that his future public utterances would be noted as the matter was “now in the hands of lawyers.”
