RVs from far and wide journey to Super Bowl XLVI

INDIANAPOLIS — John Gavejian lay in an intensive care unit for weeks on end.

It was late 2007, and Gavejian had been in and out of Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx since September, awaiting a heart transplant.

Throughout those bleak months, he still managed to follow his beloved Giants , dear to him since his family moved to New Jersey from Chicago in 1961. At the end of January, as Eli Manning and company made it to the championship, Gavejian had a thought:

"If the Giants are ever in it again, I’d like to go to the Super Bowl with my kids."

Four years later, with a new ticker and a dream to fulfill, the 64-year-old lawyer from Mahwah climbed aboard a 30-foot by 12-foot RV late Thursday and headed for Indiana.

No matter that he doesn’t have tickets to the game.
