Super Bowl mania in Spring Hill

There's a prevailing feeling about today's outcome.

Whoever wins, it will be by a small margin. It might even be won in the last few seconds.

To whichever fan base is privileged enough to see its team hoisting the Lombardi trophy, it's going to be euphoric.

It's going to be equally heartbreaking for the opposing fans.

The New England Patriots want revenge. The New York Giants want more respect. Both teams seem evenly matched.

"If anything, it's going to be a great game," said Keith Erickson, the head chef at Rookies Sports Bar and Grill in Spring Hill.

Erickson has a unique perspective of the New York-Boston rivalry. He grew up in Connecticut, where fans of both sports towns overlap.

He grew up rooting for New York teams. By the time the mid-1980s rolled around, his heart began softening for Boston, particularly the New England Patriots. It was an underdog Patriots team that surprised everyone and made a run to the Super Bowl following the 1985 season.
