Oakdale Police Blotter: Woman Files Taxes, Learns of Identity Theft

After trying to file her taxes on Feb. 4, an Oakdale woman learned that her identity had been stolen, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

The woman reported on Feb. 9 that her taxes were rejected because someone else filed taxes using her name, address, date of birth and Social Security number, the report says.

She said her PayPal account and Central Bank account were also recently compromised, according to the report.

The following incidents were also reported to Oakdale police Feb. 7-9:

Feb. 7:

A resident in the 4000 block of Geneva Avenue flagged down an officer around 9 a.m. and  reported that someone stole his car out of the parking lot where he lives. The vehicle’s value is about $3,500.
