Grand Larceny

• A Hampton Bays man who lives on Newtown Road complained to police March 10 that he noticed his Lionel train set worth $4,000 was missing after a cleaning crew worked on his flooded basement in February. The man said his landlord hired the crew to clean the area. Police are investigating the matter.

• A woman who lives on Hastings Lane in Hampton Bays told police that some of her jewelry with an estimated value of $8,000 is missing. She said a variety of gold chains and 12 gold rings are unaccounted for.

• On March 10, a caretaker for a home on Flying Point Road in Southampton reported that a $1,500 Weber barbecue was removed from the back deck of a house that he manages. He also said that the lawn of the property was slightly damaged as a result of the theft. The case is being actively investigated, said police.
