Weber: 'Hopefully, we can get this turned around'

Weber: “I haven’t even thought about it, to be honest. I love Illinois. I want to be the coach here. I want to finish my career here. Do I want to do better? No doubt about it. There’s my disappointment and frustration.

“I know I’m a good coach. I’ve done it for a long time. I’ve been part of championships and done things here at Illinois that no one else has done. I hope I can get through to these guys. That’s my whole thing in life.

“One of the most rewarding things was the hundreds of texts, emails from fans, former coaches and colleagues. To be honest, sometimes it got tears in your eyes because of the things people said. It was so positive.’’
