Big Sky indoor track: MSU men second; UM women fifth

The Montana State men placed second with 122 points and garnered 11 medals to lead the Treasure State schools at the Big Sky Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday in Flagstaff, Ariz., while the Montana men, behind freshman Lee Hardt’s All-Big Sky finish in the high jump, placed seventh with 42 points.

Northern Arizona dominated the men’s meet, breaking the indoor championships record with 215 points. Eastern Washington placed third with 88.

On the women’s side, junior Kourtney Danreuther won the 400 meters and junior Lindsey Hall scored in two more events to lead Montana, which placed fifth with 60 points — including 25 from Hall.

The Montana State women finished seventh with 56 points, three all-Big Sky Conference performances, including one individual champion.
